This is Steve, a sweet ginger kitten with a unique fan club…a flock of sheep!
Steve, a New Zealand cat, began his life as an indoor cat. During the chilly winter months, Steve’s human Amanda brought her flock of lambs inside to keep them warm, and something unexpected happened: Steve got incredibly affectionate with all of the lambs.
“He’d simply get acclimated to them and spend time with them inside,” Amanda recounts, “and then the lambs moved outdoors, and we began noticing Steve wasn’t inside any more, and we were like ‘where’s Steve?”
They observed Steve joyfully hanging out with the lambs as they peered out the window. He’s taken on the role of leader, and the lambs follow him around wherever he goes.
Steve and his lambs have been close since then, and they do almost everything together except bottle feed, when he patiently waits nearby until they’ve completed their meal.
