A kitten was discovered in a backyard without her mother, and her tiny sibling could be seen in the distance. They had apparently been abandoned hours before and were hungry and freezing. The volunteer rescue facility “Un Chat à la fois” (One cat at a time) in Quebec, Canada, took up the case of these small ones to assist them.
The kittens were placed in incubators to keep them warm and help them regain their body temperatures, which had plummeted owing to their exposure to the cold. They were given food and blankets in sufficient quantities to make them comfortable.
Juno was the smaller of the two cats, weighing just 79 grams, yet she battled valiantly to gain the upper hand. She grabbed the bottle as soon as it got close to her mouth and struggled to lose weight.
Marie explains:
“She became ill at some time and was sent to the emergency vet. She battled back, took the medication, and kept eating just when I thought we were going to lose her.”
The kitten, too, struggled valiantly to gain an advantage, and she gradually recovered. She gained enough weight to be on pace with her younger sister, and her personality began to flourish as well.
He was already fairly brave at 4 weeks, and he fought with the vacuum cleaner to draw the attention of the elder cats in the home and to establish himself as the group’s leader.
Juno discovered her favorite hobby, cuddling into a warm body, as time passed, and she leaped at the chance. Juno and Jupiter were placed in a foster family to continue interacting when her health was recovered.
Juno quickly won over everyone in her new house and lost no time seeking embraces from her new parents.
