A kitten’s life was turned upside down when a group of university cafeteria employees decided to contact a group of rescuers so that they could come and offer him with all of the assistance he need.
Ginny, a foster carer and rescuer who specializes in TNR (Trap, Neuter, and Return), arrived on the scene to aid the defenseless little kitten.
“While littering at a neighboring college cafeteria, several workers discovered a limping cat. “They phoned me later because he was hiding in the trash and not moving,” Ginny explained.
When Ginny came closer to the kitten, she saw it was nothing than skin and bones, frigid to the touch, and aloof.
Ginny observed, “He was laying in the cat cage with his eyes barely open and his side just slightly lifted.”
Despite the fact that her position was extremely critical, the woman has done everything she can to rescue the little pussy since then.
“I sat with him on my lap, covered in warm blankets, with a heating pad nearby, and simply chatted to him.” Even if he didn’t make it, I hoped he would have experienced love and warmth.”
Although the poor kitten appeared to be losing the battle, his savior never gave up faith that he would survive.
He decided to give it a name and all the attention and love it required to succeed.
“I named him Westley after the princess bride figure since he had come ‘nearly dead’ and I hoped he would live up to his moniker.”
It was unbelievable. Little Westley began to show indications of improvement after a few days of struggling for his life; he purred for the first time and began to move his head very softly. Ginny had this to say about it:
“He gazed at me with his head elevated, which he hadn’t done before. It was warm enough for me to offer her some food, which she devoured right away. That was the time at which I began to believe she might make it.”
For the first time in a long time, the tiny kitten was able to go asleep with food in his tummy while receiving all of the attention he need and being surrounded by his foster mother’s love and warmth.
He was considerably better the next day, so they took him to the doctor, who thought he was around seven weeks old. They discovered the source of his lameness, and despite the fact that the prognosis was not optimistic, the kitten was prepared to demonstrate her strength once more.
“His Lumbar 7/Sacral 1 vertebrae have been damaged.” This doesn’t limit his mobility too much, and there’s nothing doctors can do surgically to repair it. “All they recommend is that you keep your exercise levels modest,” they say.
The veterinary staff wasn’t sure Westley would make it to the litter box on his own due to his condition, but he was determined to beat the odds.
He proceeded to explore his tiny environment as soon as he regained his strength and was able to get up, and it didn’t take him long to find the sandbox.
Westley never failed to astound his foster mother, who joyfully saw him grow from a helpless kitten to a powerful and self-sufficient adult.
He began to put on weight and exhibited his charming nature; he enjoys being in people’s arms and being lavished with attention.
“When I stop caressing Westley, he meows. He only wants to be loved and cared for. To say the least, I gave him a lot of attention. He’s eating like a champ, and he’s getting more comfortable with humans every day. One of the people who discovered him wants to adopt him.”
