Two young kittens discovered together on the side of the road, presumably because their mother had abandoned them, helped each other move forward in life and so advanced.
The young animals kept crawling until they were rescued, despite the fact that they were only a day old and had no sustenance. Fortunately, they were picked up by a nice stranger who promptly sought aid from a nearby animal sanctuary.
The feline sisters came at Sparkle Cat Rescue in North Carolina with the aid of numerous volunteers to be cared for by someone with experience.
Sarah Kelly took care of the children and began giving them additional attention and feeding them every two hours during the day.
The kittens, called Soleil and Luna, cuddled up in the incubator after being meticulously cleaned and fed, and took a well-deserved nap. Even though the sisters were little, you could see they had a strong desire to live and battled tooth and nail to stay alive.
Luna suffered an eye infection and required daily medical therapy to conquer the infection, since newborns are normally particularly prone to disease if they are not nursed. Throughout her rehabilitation, Soleil became her guardian.
Luna’s sister would lay her body on top of her or ride her leg while she was being treated, as if to reassure her that everything was well. The two sisters had been together since they came at the animal shelter; they were inseparable, and they knew that if they banded together, they could face any difficulty.
Soleil remained at Luna’s side throughout her recovery, encouraging her to overcome this adversity in her life. Luna would constantly glance at her sister and follow in her footsteps, and when Sarah would come in with the food, they would meow in unison.
Soleil, the most extroverted and self-assured of the sisters, eagerly approached her foster mother and caressed her face. While everything was going on, Luna did nothing except observe her sister and try to figure out how she should act.
