We’ve been fortunate enough to be a part of several tales involving folks with limited financial resources but a great heart. This story, like so many others about animal connection, is the result of a homeless guy in Lima, Peru, who, despite his shortcomings, became the hero of a cat.
We all know that there are wonderful individuals in the world, like Martin, who have a decent heart and a great affection for small creatures, but there are also wicked people who are just interested in themselves. These can get to the point where they don’t care if pets that have done nothing except adore their owners are put to death.
Martin, a guy who lives on the streets, is the protagonist of the narrative. This man lives on the streets of San Juan de Lurigancho, trying to make ends meet, but one day a family tasked him with one of the most dreadful professions imaginable: killing the family’s cat, who had lost interest in him for inexplicable reasons.
Unfortunately, not all heroes wear capes, but all heroes, like Martin, have a large heart. Despite not knowing how to survive himself, he chose to save this little kitty’s life and keep him for a while until he could find someone to care for him.
Thanks to a man from the neighborhood called José Enrique, who chose to post Martn’s tale on his Facebook page, the story spread over social media. The story rapidly went viral throughout the neighborhood and around the city, prompting many individuals to contact José to learn how they could assist.
