When her family decided they didn’t want her anymore, this lovely pregnant cat went through a terrible period. When a 12-year-old girl witnessed what was going on, she decided to take the cat with her so she wouldn’t wind up on the streets in the dead of winter. They found a rescue facility to take her in with the aid of a neighbor.
The tabby kitten, who was between the ages of one and two, was on the verge of giving birth. Sylvie, a volunteer with Chatons Orphelins Montréal, a cat rescue organization in Montreal, Canada, answered the phone as soon as she heard about Gisel.
When it came to meeting her new foster parent, Stef, the lovely feline was eager to warm up.
Gisel went into labor a few days after she arrived and was visibly in need of assistance. Gisel was taken to the hospital after only one of the kittens survived the tough delivery.
A bacterial infection in Gisel’s uterus necessitated immediate surgery. She began to regain her cat vigor after the treatment that saved her life, and she liked kneading and purring.
Pruno, the mother cat’s kitten, was bottle-fed 24 hours a day while she healed in the clinic. Although the kitten was little, he had a tremendous drive to live. He kept his grip on the bottle and refused to eat until it was entirely gone.
Despite the fact that he was not with his mother, Pruno gained weight by drinking from the bottle. Mama Gisel went home to be with her kid after her recovery.
Pruno is still being fed by bottle, and Stef feeds him every two hours throughout the day.
Celine explains:
“Her milk is unsafe for the kitten since she takes several drugs to treat her ailments. Gisel has been placed in a jumpsuit to prevent her from breastfeeding, ensuring that she receives the motherly love and care she requires to grow.”
