For any animal, living on the street is difficult because risks lurk around every corner: an accident, a callous person, disease, and the weather. Each of these circumstances has the potential to bring an individual’s life to an end who does not deserve it.
The events of today’s narrative took place in Istanbul, Turkey. An injured kitten with issues in one of her legs arrived at the Ashen veterinary clinic one day. Due to the seriousness of the little girl’s injury, the shelter where she was brought had to transfer her to the clinic right away.
Following the veterinarian’s evaluation, it was determined that her leg should be removed because she could not walk due to her significant injuries.
After a few days had gone after the kitten’s intervention, Ahsen couldn’t stop thinking about her and the kitten’s response to seeing her.
Ashen adores cats and has several in her home, all of them are rescues with specific needs.
“I couldn’t get her off my thoughts and couldn’t stop thinking about her.” So I went back to visit her, and if she was still there, she promised to adopt her and give her the best life she deserved ».
After a few days of recuperation, Ahsen was reunited with the kitten and decided to name her “Ekim,” which means October in Turkish.
When the delighted kitten returned home, all she wanted to do was be with her favorite person and receive plenty of hugs, so Ahsen made sure her siblings welcomed her in and adored her.
Every day, Ekim became more and more spoilt, and all he wanted was to be embraced and sleep clutching Ahsen’s hand. She learnt to walk with her three small legs not long after.
As Ahsen put it,
“She had her first self-guided tour of the home and even used the litter box.”
He was so happy when the cast was removed that he rushed about the home, rolling in bed and on his back, feeling the cloth all over her body.
