Catman the pretty cats hero
We all need a hero, and pretty cats, especially street cats, are no exception. Enter 5-year-old Shon Griffin from Philadelphia. “We call him Catman,” his aunt Kris Papiernik told ABC news.
Aunty Kris and her fiancée have been involved in cat rescues and fostering for many years, and had recently taken to looking after a local group they named the Kolony Kats.
One pretty cat, Bug, would just not cooperate when it came to getting shots and being neutered…
“Nothing we tried worked,” Aunty Kris said. However, she had noticed that her nephew Shon had formed an instant bond with the pretty cats so she let him help out. “The cats took to him right away. Bug came right over to Shon, rubbed against his legs, and allowed him to pet him.”
From that day on, Shon was Catman. He regularly visits his aunt and the Kat Kolony, dressed in his favorite superhero outfit, feeding and petting the pretty cats and helping solve any problems that might arise.

Winter has shown up sooner than anticipated for the current year! The cool spell that has been moving through a few districts of Quebec for quite a long time has made life harder for the homeless cats.
So it’s imperative to consider our four-legged companions. While the majority of them have a home, others need to get by outside.

1. BUILD A SHELTER FOR THE PREETY CATS
It is very easy to build a small shelter for cats who will need it on colder nights. It costs almost nothing and it can save many lives. It is ideally installed in a place that is not very busy and where the shelter will not be buried under the snow.
2. LEAVE FOOD AND WATER IN DIFFERENT PLACES NEAR OUR HOME
You can leave food and water on your balcony for pretty cats with empty stomachs. On very cold days, make sure the water does not freeze.
There are even heated bowls for those who can afford to spoil the stray pretty cats in their neighborhood! It is very important not to give leftover food to your pets. As Marie-Noel points out, there may be a risk of contamination and disease.

4. OPEN YOUR HOME IN CASE OF EMERGENCY
If you see an animal that is really in trouble, you can take it home temporarily. Marie-Noel points out, however, that it is very important to keep it in an isolated room, especially if you have other animals at home so that it does not contaminate them.
If the animal in question is in distress, we should immediately contact our local shelter to ask for help.
5. ADOPT A SHELTER CAT.
