Oscar is a lovely 10-year-old red-haired cat who has ended up at the Burton RSCPA shelter for the third time after being rejected by his previous owners. The adoring cat yearns to find that special family who would provide him with love and security for the rest of his life, but this time it will be for good.
A family turned up to adopt Oscar after the shelter and several individuals posted a post giving him up for adoption multiple times. Oscar had already been returned twice and it appeared that no one was interested in him at the moment, but this family’s tale about him would alter in October.
Oscar was abandoned by his new family after only a few months in his new home, and he was returned to the animal shelter without being adopted.
Oscar, fondly known as “the rejected cat,” is on the hunt for a new home, this time for good. Oscar is a pleasant and friendly kitty, according to the shelter staff, who also claims that he is passionate at times.
Burton, RSPCA, posted on Facebook:
“Oscar has been with us since September, and he was brought back owing to his (sometimes) fiery personality.”
They also stated that everyone on staff is devastated by the news, but that they would not rest until they find a permanent home. They also described Oscar’s odd nature, as they had never seen anything like it in the time he has been in the shelter.
Burton’s RSPCA said:
“Having Oscar around is an excellent idea since he is extroverted, adventurous, and sociable. FRIENDLY, indeed!! ”
Despite its odd appearance, the cat is not grumpy, and in fact, it is generally highly expressive with its meows and has a peaceful attitude. He nearly always seeks out the attention of the staff and reminds everyone that he is at the shelter with a friendly nod.
According to the RSPCA:
“When he greets us in the morning, he purrs happily; he is not shy or timid around others.” He does, however, have an aggressive side and has unexpected moments ».
They believe, however, that his sudden outbreaks of anger will subside over time; all he needs now is a patient owner.
As a result, his new family will need to understand and accept him for who he is, according to the staff. Oscar appears to have cohabitation issues when he is forced to perform something or when he is among other cats.
Also, he may have an issue with older ladies, although this has yet to be verified, and they still want a young adoptive parent.
Staff recommends allowing him to be self-sufficient; they do not put pressure on him to complete tasks, and they believe this has worked well. But that doesn’t mean he doesn’t appreciate it; on most days, he searches for people to meet them and lets them caress him.
Oscar’s former family claims he displays violent behavior, but the shelter staff has never experienced it, so they have no idea what disturbed him.
What is evident is that Oscar is troubled by older women, which might be a coincidence or a traumatic experience. Since a result, the staff demands that its new owner be young, manly, and patient, as this will ensure that it has a decent home.
The red-haired feline also requires a household where it will be the only pet, there will be no children, and it will be completely self-sufficient.
His new home must also include a garden, as he enjoys spending time outside, and that freedom will undoubtedly aid his adaptation.
