A lady was heading to work in Phuket, Thailand, in February 2017 when she heard a distressed meow. She came to a halt and searched the area for the source of the meow. She eventually located it – a cat sleeping in a flooded rice field’s shallow water.
The animal was in terrible condition. Her body was covered in excruciating sores due to some sort of skin ailment. She was also quite sluggish.
Fortunately for the cat, the woman works for the Soi Dog Foundation, a Phuket-based organization that saves dogs and cats. So the woman took the cat to the organization’s clinic, where the veterinarians began assisting her.
Maeve Henry, a spokesman for the Soi Dog Foundation, told us, “She was really despondent and looked to have given up.” “At first, our veterinarians had a hard time getting her to eat, and she was severely dehydrated.”
The veterinarians, however, did not lose up on the cat, which they called Rose.
“She was given antibiotics as well as medicine for her skin concerns,” Henry added. “Her ears were cleansed since they were filthy, and she had small scabs from scratching, so antiseptic medicine was used to clean them.” She regained her appetite quite fast after beginning medical therapy.”
Rose began to brighten, and she grew into a charming, affectionate cat.
“Once she saw she was being assisted, she began to trust us,” Henry explained. “At our shelter, this allowed her to unwind.”
Rose had fully recovered two months later, and she looked like an entirely different cat. Rose got a permanent home with an ex-pat residing in Thailand in May 2017.
